Artecorte: Who We Are

La Liga en Cuba is an official partner of Artecorte, a Cuban organization located in Old Havana founded by Cuba’s most renown barber/entrepreneur Gilberto “Papito” Valladares. A community-based group, Artecorte provides vocational educational services that prepare disadvantaged youth of their community for jobs in Cuba’s growing private sector. Artecorte believes in inspiring economic growth while maintaining social values. In working together, La Liga en Cuba and Artecorte work to provide members of our community with the opportunity to grow both as professionals and become active members of their community.

Our partnership with Artecorte gives us access to training and learning facilities, and allows us to work closely with accomplished members of Cuban society who have experience conducting social projects in Cuba. Both organizations strive to expand our impact beyond our own communities and onto the rest of Cuba.
